Jameson Williams Faces Suspension, Lions Remain Supportive

Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams is facing his second suspension in just three years in the NFL, but the Lions are still standing by their 2022 first-round draft pick. Williams is expected to be suspended for two games after a violation of the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, coming on the heels of a four-game suspension he received last year for a gambling infraction.

Although Williams is still weighing his options regarding whether to appeal this latest suspension, head coach Dan Campbell expressed his unwavering support for the young player. “Here’s what I can tell you is I trust this kid. I trust him,” Campbell stated on Wednesday, as reported by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

He continued, “And unfortunately, you gotta pay for your sins; if something happens and this comes down, so be it. But I know this, we’ve dangled a rope down on the way up. We can’t wait for anybody, and over a year ago, he started climbing his way up. He got to us, and maybe he lost his grip, but he’ll climb back up again nso meaning.
